Vacantra Listings is a standalone WordPress vacancy-management plugin for organisations that need a professional and flexible way to publish job opportunities.

The plugin provides native vacancy fields for capturing departments, locations, employment types, work modes, opening and closing dates, compensation, application information, vacancy notices and Terms of Reference. Vacancies are automatically organised into current and past opportunities based on their configured dates.

Using the [vacantra_listings] shortcode, organisations can display opportunities in responsive grid, list or table layouts. Visitors may switch between layouts where the view switcher is enabled.

Each vacancy receives a professionally designed detail page containing the complete job description, vacancy information, application deadline, application link or email address, downloadable vacancy documents and automatic navigation back to the originating listing page.

Vacantra Listings is fully standalone. It does not require any additional plugin or external service. It also does not collect analytics, track visitors, transmit personal information to the developer or load executable code from external servers.

Uninstalling the plugin preserves vacancy posts and uploaded documents to prevent accidental loss of recruitment records.

How to Use Vacantra Listings

1. Install the plugin

From the WordPress administration area:

1. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
2. Select Upload Plugin.
3. Choose the Vacantra Listings ZIP file.
4. Select Install Now.
5. Activate the plugin.

After activation, a new Vacancies menu appears in the WordPress dashboard.

2. Add a vacancy

1. Go to Vacancies → Add Vacancy.
2. Enter the position title.
3. Add the complete vacancy description using the WordPress content editor.
4. Complete the available vacancy fields, including:
5. Add a featured image if available.
6. Publish the vacancy.

The opening and closing dates determine whether the vacancy appears as scheduled, active or closed.

3. Generate the listing shortcode

1. Go to Vacancies → Shortcode Generator.
2. Select the preferred default layout:
   • Grid
   • List
   • Table
3. Choose whether visitors can change the layout.
4. Set the number of vacancies displayed.
5. Choose how past opportunities should appear.
6. Customise the headings and empty-state message.
7. Select Copy Shortcode.

The basic shortcode is:

An example with customised options is:

4. Create the vacancies page

1. Go to Pages → Add New Page.
2. Give the page an appropriate name, such as Jobs, Vacancies or Opportunities.
3. Add a WordPress Shortcode block.
4. Paste the generated shortcode.
5. Publish the page.

The shortcode can also be added through any editor that processes WordPress shortcodes.

5. Remove the page sidebar

To display the listing without the theme sidebar:

1. Edit the vacancy-listing page.
2. Open the page template settings.
3. Select Vacantra Listings – No Sidebar.
4. Update the page.

The template retains the active theme’s header, footer, typography and general page styling while removing the sidebar.

6. Configure applications

A vacancy may use either:

• An external application URL, such as an online application form; or
• An application email address.

When both are available, the external application URL is used as the primary application method.

The application button is shown only while the vacancy is active. Scheduled and expired vacancies display an appropriate application-status message.

7. Attach a vacancy notice or TOR

Use the native document selector within the Vacancy Details panel to select a PDF, DOC or DOCX file from the WordPress Media Library.

The document is displayed as a clean download button on the vacancy page without exposing its filename beneath the button.
