CourseBridge Catalog is a professional hybrid course catalogue for WordPress and Moodle. It enables universities, training organisations, educational institutions and independent course providers to create an attractive public course directory using courses created directly in WordPress, courses synchronised from Moodle, or both.

Moodle remains the learning platform, while WordPress provides a modern, searchable and user-friendly course-discovery experience. CourseBridge securely synchronises essential course information without overwriting locally managed information such as fees, instructors, available places, duration and course level.

The plugin can also operate entirely without Moodle as a standalone WordPress course catalogue.

How to use it

Installation

1. Download the plugin ZIP.
2. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
3. Upload the ZIP and activate it.
4. A new Courses menu will appear.

Creating courses in WordPress

1. Go to Courses → Add New Course.
2. Enter the course title and description.
3. Complete the course details, including:
   • Instructor
   • Start and end dates
   • Duration
   • Price
   • Available places
   • Course level
   • Action button text and URL
4. Assign a course category.
5. Add a featured image if available. CourseBridge supplies a professional default cover when no image is provided.
6. Publish the course.

Connecting Moodle

In Moodle, enable REST web services and add these functions to the external service:

core_webservice_get_site_info
core_course_get_courses
core_course_get_categories

Generate a web-service token for a dedicated Moodle user. To create a web service token → Site admin → Server → Web services → Manage Tokens → Create Token → Generate a token for a user account with permission to view courses.

In WordPress:

1. Open Settings → CourseBridge Sync.
2. Enter the Moodle HTTPS site URL.
3. Enter the Moodle web-service token.
4. Select the synchronisation frequency.
5. Click Save settings.
6. Click Test connection.
7. Click Sync now.

New Moodle courses are imported as drafts, allowing an administrator to review them before publication.

Displaying the catalogue

Add this shortcode to a WordPress page:

[course_catalog]

It displays 16 courses per page with automatic pagination.

Filter by category:

[course_catalog category="project-management"]

Use a different number per page:

[course_catalog count="8"]

The automatic course archive is also available at:
