About this course

The Digital Literacy – Basic Level course is designed to equip learners with the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to use computers, smartphones, internet-enabled devices, and digital services safely and effectively. The course introduces learners to foundational digital concepts, information searching and management, online communication and collaboration, digital content creation, and personal safety and security.

Participants will develop the ability to navigate digital devices, access and evaluate online information, communicate using digital platforms, create and manage basic digital content, and protect themselves, their devices, personal information, and the environment.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, learners should be able to:

  • Use basic computer functions and internet-enabled devices.
  • Navigate the internet and search for relevant information.
  • Evaluate and manage digital information and content.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively using digital technologies.
  • Create, edit, and share basic digital content.
  • Understand basic copyright and licensing principles.
  • Protect devices, personal information, privacy, and digital identities.
  • Practice responsible, respectful, and safe online behaviour.
  • Recognise and manage common digital risks.
  • Use digital technologies in ways that promote personal well-being and environmental responsibility.
